Hate-Free Together Invites Community Input for Brand Exploration

Aug. 31, 2026 — Hate-Free Together is inviting community members to participate in a brand exploration survey, open August 31 through September 25, to provide feedback on the initiative’s current name and logo and share ideas that may better reflect its mission, vision and values.

Launched in 2022, Hate-Free Together brings together the City of Davis, UC Davis, Yolo County, Davis Joint Unified School District, and the Yolo County Office of Education around a shared commitment to building a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and welcome. Through education, partnerships, and community engagement, the initiative works to prevent hate, promote belonging, and foster meaningful dialogue throughout Yolo County.

As the initiative has grown, so has the conversation about whether its public identity continues to reflect its mission and resonate with the community. The Hate-Free Together Executive Committee is seeking community input to better understand how people connect with the current name and visual identity and whether changes should be considered.

Community input will help inform the Executive Committee’s review of the initiative’s name and visual identity. The outcome may include retaining the current brand, refining elements of the existing identity or adopting a new public-facing name or logo.

The survey will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026. Residents, students, employees, community organizations and anyone with a connection to Yolo County are encouraged to complete the survey online

The form includes questions about:

  • What the name “Hate-Free Together” means to individuals.
  • Whether the current name and logo reflect the initiative’s mission and values.
  • Ideas for a future public-facing name or logo.
  • Words, images, colors, or symbols that represent belonging, inclusion, and community.
  • Other suggestions that could strengthen the initiative’s public identity.

Participants may also submit original ideas for names, taglines and logo concepts. Logo sketches or concept art may be submitted separately by email to hatefreetogether@gmail.com.

Following closure of the form, the Hate-Free Together Executive Committee will review all feedback and develop recommendation considerations. If changes are adopted, participants whose ideas are selected will be notified and a public announcement may be made in mid- to late-October.
