This free training is open to Yolo County staff, provider staff and the community. Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
Attendees must complete a two-hour independent online learning module prior to the class and are expected to attend the live training for the full duration. After successfully passing the online quiz and evaluation, attendees will receive a three-year professional certification on Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Health.
