This fall, a variety of events, conferences, and gatherings are being hosted, celebrating culture, learning, creativity, community service, and civic engagement. While each event is independently organized with its own purpose, together they reflect something special about Davis and Yolo County: a community that values connection, curiosity, belonging and participation.
By bringing attention to these events collectively, Hate-Free Together hopes to help community members discover opportunities to connect with their neighbors, learn from different perspectives, and participate in the many activities that contribute to a welcoming and engaged community.
Why It Matters
Strong communities are built through relationships. Whether attending a cultural festival, a neighborhood gathering, a community conversation, a conference, a concert, or a volunteer event, these experiences help connect people across backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. They create opportunities for understanding and belonging.
By recognizing and supporting the many organizations that bring people together, we can help build a more welcoming, connected and resilient community for everyone. We ask that this season, you consider attending one event or several, using every opportunity to connect with others or participate in community activities to help strengthen your relationships and the overall community that makes Yolo County a welcoming and resilient place to live.

On the Events webpage, look for events that have “Season of Connection” as a Category or a Tag. Events vary in size, format, location, and cost, allowing community members to choose the opportunities that best match their interests, availability, and budget. Hate-Free Together does not organize these events. We are simply sharing them as opportunities for community members to explore and decide which, if any, they would like to attend.
