SUMMARY:Lunar New Year Celebration with Community Performances
DESCRIPTION:Yolo County Library will celebrate Lunar New Year with a vibrant afternoon of cultural performances on Saturday\, February 7.  The event is free and open to the public. \n  \nThe Lunar New Year officially begins on Tuesday\, February 17\, welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse. In traditional Chinese zodiac\, individuals born in a Fire Horse year are often described as energetic\, bold\, and fiercely independent. These individuals possess strong leadership qualities\, creativity\, and a passion for forging their own path. \n  \nThe celebration opens with dragon and lion dances\, followed by folk dances\, live music\, ballet\, and martial arts. Each attendee will receive a traditional red envelope containing a free ticket for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses and organizations. \n  \nThe program is sponsored and supported by the City of Davis Arts and Cultural Affairs Fund and Friends of the Davis Public Library.
