DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid trainings (MHFA) are an evidence-based training program that teaches everyday people how to recognize the signs of mental health and substance use challenges\, offer initial support\, and guide someone toward appropriate professional help. \nDeveloped by Mental Health First Aid\, this course virtually empowers participants with practical\, real-world skills. Through interactive discussions\, scenario-based learning\, and expert guidance\, you’ll gain confidence in how to approach sensitive situations\, start supportive conversations\, and respond effectively in moments of crisis or uncertainty. \nWhether you’re a student\, educator\, employee\, or community member\, MHFA equips you to make a meaningful difference. Participants learn how to identify early warning signs of mental health challenges\, listen nonjudgmentally and communicate with empathy\, respond to crises such as panic attacks or severe distress\, connect individuals with appropriate resources and support systems \nMFHA offers both youth and adult trainings. DESCRIPTION:Light Festival – Bridges of Light: A Celebration of Resilience and Radiance\n  \nThe Light Festival showcases our Asian & Pacific Islander\, Middle Eastern\, North African and South Asian communities. The outdoor event will feature student performances\, cultural workshops\, and food and craft vendors highlighting the traditions and creative practices connected to light festivals. Among the activities will be henna art. \n  \nThe festival will be on Saturday\, May 2nd from 2pm – 8pm on the East Quad\, at UC Davis. Free to attend! \n  \nAll are welcome to join us to enjoy food\, engage in activities\, and watch a variety of performance. Information on where to park is included on the Light Festival’s page.
