DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid trainings (MHFA) are an evidence-based training program that teaches everyday people how to recognize the signs of mental health and substance use challenges\, offer initial support\, and guide someone toward appropriate professional help. \nDeveloped by Mental Health First Aid\, this course virtually empowers participants with practical\, real-world skills. Through interactive discussions\, scenario-based learning\, and expert guidance\, you’ll gain confidence in how to approach sensitive situations\, start supportive conversations\, and respond effectively in moments of crisis or uncertainty. \nWhether you’re a student\, educator\, employee\, or community member\, MHFA equips you to make a meaningful difference. Participants learn how to identify early warning signs of mental health challenges\, listen nonjudgmentally and communicate with empathy\, respond to crises such as panic attacks or severe distress\, connect individuals with appropriate resources and support systems \nMFHA offers both youth and adult trainings. Join us on Friday\, Apr 24\, 2026 at 2:00pm – 5:00pm\, in King Hall\, Room 1001.
