DESCRIPTION:The celebration of Yolo County Black History Month continues throughout February with a month-long series of events and activities designed to engage\, educate\, and inspire the community. For questions or more information\, feel free to email Sandy Holman at info@cultureco-op.com. \nVISIT QUILT DISPLAYS\nFrom February 5 to 28\, five quilt displays will be set up across Yolo County\, each showcasing a collection of quilts by Khristel Johnson\, a retired educator and master quilter. View this handout with all five locations.\nReturn your stamped passport to any Yolo County Library branch or the Yolo County Office of Education by Monday\, March 3rd to enter the prize drawing.\n\n“I AM” QUILT ACTIVITY \nCommunity members are invited to participate in the “I Am” Quilt Activity. By creating an 8.5” x 11” quilt square\, participants can submit their designs to be included in a countywide quilt display to be showcased at the end of Black History Month. View activity instructions.  \nMaterials Needed: \n\n8.5″ x 11″ piece of paper\nConstruction paper (various colors)\nScissors\, glue\, and/or glue sticks\n\nSubmission Details: Completed quilt squares must be submitted to any Yolo County Library branch or the Yolo County Office of Education by March 3. Classrooms and student groups are highly encouraged to participate.
